Background

Spinal decompression is not a “miracle”.
It is not a cure-all.
And it is not appropriate for everyone.

It is, however, a conservative, non-surgical option supported by emerging peer-reviewed research in selected patients with lumbar disc pathology.

Several published studies suggest that structured, non-surgical spinal decompression may:

  • Reduce pain in patients with lumbar disc herniation

  • Improve disability scores (Oswestry Disability Index)

  • Improve range of motion

  • Increase intervertebral disc height in selected cases

  • Improve functional outcomes compared to routine physical therapy alone
