Referral Information
Auckland Disc provides a trusted non-surgical option for patients with both cervical or lumbar spinal pain related to Disc Bulge/Herniation, Degeneration or Compression.
Referring Clinician: Dr David Kay B.Sc (U.Syd), B.Chiro (N.Z.) or Dr Sheridan Kay (D.C. B.Sc USA)
Focus: Disc herniation, sciatica, radiculopathy, degenerative disc disease, post-surgical back pain.
Location: 649 Remuera Road, Remuera, 1050 | Phone 09 523 5663
Evidence Highlights
Clinical trials show Spinal Decompression yields greater pain reduction than exercise alone in chronic low back pain with radiculopathy.
Imaging studies demonstrate increased disc height and foraminal space post-treatment.
Non-Surgical Decompression programs report significant pain and mobility improvements within 8-12 weeks, with many patients avoiding surgery.
Adverse events are very rare when patients are properly screened.
Referral Pathway
Phone or email referral accepted.

Background
Spinal decompression is not a “miracle”.
It is not a cure-all.
And it is not appropriate for everyone.
It is, however, a conservative, non-surgical option supported by emerging peer-reviewed research in selected patients with lumbar disc pathology.
Several published studies suggest that structured, non-surgical spinal decompression may:
Reduce pain in patients with lumbar disc herniation
Improve disability scores (Oswestry Disability Index)
Improve range of motion
Increase intervertebral disc height in selected cases
Improve functional outcomes compared to routine physical therapy alone
